Wide Open - The fun begins

The following day, we just cleaned all the rubble and got it ready for the next stage of plastering. The overal space has given the rooms a much more open space for living - Just what a small Townhouse needs!

Lucky for us we had some spare tiles left in the backyard when we moved in, I had some experience doing tiling for a company i used to work for as a web developer, but i too have a bit of handyman in my boots. I guess doing anywork i feel coffident will helps us both in the longterm in savings. The job was to cover the exposed hole from the centre pillar of the arche that we removed. I must say it come up better than i thought only took a few hours to clean and apply. Next part is to match the grout.

A differant Angle looking out from the kitchen room, more room for now... Once the kitchen Island gets installed the space will be filled. Lots to do but the fun has really begun.

Finally the Arches are long gone and the rooms now become one. Its really putting a smile on our faces as the Arches really did become headache for furniture placement.

Reno 1 - Kitchen Corner

Good 4 hours it took myself and my partner to know the berlin wall =) - Amongst all the rubble on the floor, its fully exposed now and the clean up begins....

The before shot of the Twin Arches, no longer is it an eye soar...

Kitchen fully removed and the patching and planing begin. Here i will need to knock a few holes for new Wall Socket Switches to Power, Dishwasher near the door, New Oven, New Stove, and Fridge near the Stove while the Pantry will be now closer to the right.

Last man standing, the most ugliest oven to date i seen, soon as we bought this place i knew it had to be gone.... Had to remove this last as i needed to plug up the Gas line before removal. A simple $3 fitting from my other home "Bunnings" helped solve the problem.

Now how does one enjoy a good meal cooked in this kitchen? Not long till i get revenge....
